PAYROLL AND HUMAN RESOURCES TECHNICIAN

Reporting to: Controller

Responsiblity: Boost your career by becoming our next Payroll and Human Resources Technician. You will ensure synergy between the payroll and human resources teams. Your dual mandate: guarantee accurate and timely payroll while ensuring rigorous management of the employee lifecycle, from talent attraction to departure. Through your attention to detail and service-oriented approach, you simplify the daily lives of managers and employees by providing a smooth and reassuring experience. Take on challenging tasks and grow in an environment that values initiative and collaboration. Main responsibilities: collect, verify, and enter payroll data (hours, bonuses, commissions) to independently produce payroll; generate employment records, manage government remittances (DAS, CSST), and prepare year-end forms (T4/Relevé 1); administer enrollments, changes, and terminations of group insurance and retirement plans; produce various payroll reports (vacation, sick leave, etc.); create and maintain employee files (hires, departures, status changes); support recruitment: post job openings, screen received CVs, coordinate interview schedules, and conduct reference checks; onboarding: prepare hiring documents in coordination with the manager, organize the welcome, and follow-up on materials, equipment, and access; enroll employees in group insurance and retirement plans, transmit and update data with payroll; respond to employee inquiries; compile and track training (Law 90); participate in optimizing HR tools and practices.

Candidate profile: certificate in human resources management, in Business Administration; DEC in Business Administration, two (2) years of experience in human resources management, two (2) years of experience in payroll, knowledge of the Office suite, intermediate Excel, mastery of the French language, both spoken and written; mastery of the English language, both spoken and written, as several of our employees are based outside of Quebec; the position holder will need to regularly use English in their communications

Conditions: permanent 40 hours per week position, on-site position, flexible leave bank, group insurance plan, retirement plan with employer contribution
